Well it is the end of the week, and I have finished one of my projects previously mentioned. My one daughter was looking through some of my pattern books and saw a shawl that she really liked. So, I put down her project, after working on it for 3 days. Oh well, let's see what she has picked out.

The Shawl.

As you can see I have finished my one daughters, "T's" shawl. The project went quicker than I thought. The only problem with this pattern is that the ends of the knitting needles got caught in the stiches. I had to be careful not to knit the shawl to itself. She says she really likes it.

The Sweater

Now that I have finished the one shawl, I pulled out a sweater project for myself that I have been working on for over 2 years. It is really a very simple sweater. Unfortunately the pattern of it is not that visible. It is a texture, ribbed, knit and purl geometric design. The reason I have not finished is this is for myself and I seem to like to make things for others. I think I will consentrate on this.

The Blanket
I mention in my previous entry that I had taught myself how to crochet. The afgan blanket to the left is my finished product. Not to bad for my first attempt. I did have problems as could never remeber to count. I would just go on my merry way and low and behold my peaks and valleys would not line up correctly.

Here are some sweaters I have knitted.. The multi-colored was my first. The diamond cable was my third sweater and the bulky knit single cable was my latest creation.

It's just the beginning

Well, here I sit trying to think of what to write about in my blog.

I have been knitting for a few years now. It all started as a young boy when my mother first showed me how to cast on to a needle and how to knit and purl. Well, I was thrilled. I created a holy mess of a something, but boy was I proud. After that I put down my needles for a number of years; only to have a very good friend suggest I take up knitting while I was going through my divorce. She gave me a project of knitting a toddler cardigan for my grandson. Now folks, remember I hadn't knitted for years. Well believe it or not I finished this cardigan with buttons and pockets. It was beautiful. Now I was really hooked and started knitting my next sweater. I tried to upload a picture, but as you can see I am having a bit of a problem. Oh well, next time I hope.

My knitting projects mostly are sweater, I enjoy doing cables and textures. I recently finished a bulky knit turtle neck cable for my daughter. On this project I needed to increase the size as the pattern was for only small sizes. It came out very good.

Now my daughters have me making evening stoles for them as they are going to a wedding this November. Need to get busy.

Oh, forgot to mention I just learned how to crochet and finished making a rippled blanket out of some of my left over yarns. I am thinking of making a fisherman's cable sampler afghan once I am finished with the girls projects. Will keep you posted as to my successes.
